Birthday  Joy

 Last week I celebrated a milestone birthday. I am now a young 77 year old woman. It is such a blessing to have another birthday to enjoy, free from pain and other events associated with getting older. I received many greetings and several were from friends I had grown up with. I have Facebook to thank for that. It has helped many of us to stay connected through the years. This is especially helpful due to the fact many of us have moved away from our hometown. Each day of life is precious so find joy in each one. Happy birthday everyone!

The Conversation

Have you ever had a conversation,

that you found hard to forget,

either with a family member, a friend,

or someone you just met?

It is in those conversations,

we discover the contents of our heart.

A simple hello and a smile,

is how it all may start.

Age, race, career and such,

are points of interests,

 you may touch.

It is amazing the connection,

we may feel,

and perhaps helping us to heal.

There may be times,

it will be hard to share.

But spending time with someone,

 will show how much they care.

Father God wired us,

 to be together,

to enjoy the sunny days,

and endure the stormy weather.

Begin that conversation,

and see where it goes.

Trust the Lord in it.

He already knows.

 Do Not Be Surprised

We should not be surprised,     

at the choices people make. 

Taking our eyes off the Lord,

leads to many mistakes.

The disciples were with Jesus,

three years and still, 

they had difficulty,

following his will.

                                                                Who are we to think, 

 we can do life on our own,

forgetting about the seeds,

that have already been sown.

Let us not be perplexed,

at what other people do,

but making sure,

it is God's Word,

                                                                we are holding true.

Spring is Here!

Daffodils are popping up,

 all over the place.

Seeing them brings,

 a smile to my face.

                                There is also a robin,                                   flying all about.

Spring is really here,

there is no doubt.

What other signs of the season,

 will I see today?

No matter what,

I’ll say hip, hip, hooray!
